Cause Description:
Fair Haven was founded by survivors/for survivors and exists to facilitate a safe and faith-focused recovery program for hurting women who have experienced sexual, emotional, and/or physical abuse. Fair Haven exists to bring about the education and awareness of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, verbal & sexual) to communities and individuals by sharing the realities and lasting effects of abuse on the survivor’s life-physically, mentally and spiritually. Our future goal and God-led vision is to provide Lake County, Indiana with a much-needed transitional living facility. This facility would provide women and their dependent children (we would also include single women) who are suffering from the affects of domestic violence and/or sexual assault with a stable and supportive environment for 6 months-2 years.
