Cause Description:
The Child Adoption Resources Association, Inc is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), licensed, child-placing agency committed to finding families for children in need of adoptive placement. We help with the adoption of children of all ages and races, from the United States as well as other countries. We provide home studies and educational training for all types of adoption. CARA counsels pregnant women considering placing children for adoption and we place a limited number of infants born in Connecticut. CARA belongs to a network of placement agencies that place children from the United States and many other countries. CARA also does home studies and provides post-placement services for children adopted from state foster care systems. Project Connecticut's Child is a groundbreaking program sponsored by the Child Adoption Resource Association (CARA) that will infiltrate residents of New London County/Southeastern Connecticut with information on children in Connecticut needing forever families and provide information on how to become a foster and/or adoptive family. Connecticut, along with the rest of the nation, sees more and more children who are legally free for adoption, but who have no adoptive family identified. Project Connecticut’s Child will help to meet the increasing need for adoptive families by implementing media-based recruitment activities above and beyond what the state Department of Children and Families puts forth.
