The Lundy Foundation "Have a Ball" Free Tennis Camp

Cause Description:
In 1998, the Lundy Foundation was established, as a 501 (c3) non-profit organization dedicated to offering New Orleans’ inner-city youth the opportunity to participate in a free summer program that offered free tennis lessons and equipment. In April 2004, the Lundy Foundation also co-hosted a track meet for Louisiana high school students. This meet was hosted again Saturday, April 16, 2005. Unfortunately with the destruction of Hurricane Katrina, we along with our parent corporation Lundy Enterprises sustained a tremendous amount of damage. Our office is destroyed as it was in East New Orleans. Our program will be condensed in Baton Rouge and limited to two sessions compared with eight sessions in 2005 with two days each. The Lundy Foundation believes if a seed is planted in the hearts of children that they can achieve any goal in their life. The camp was the 1999 winner of the United States Tennis Association’s Educational Merit Award, was the Outstanding United States Tennis Association 1*2*3* Camp in Louisiana, and was the Outstanding Site in 1999.
