Cause Description:
The Adoption Center of Delaware Valley, a human service agency, has the mission of expanding adoption opportunities throughout the state of Pennsylvania. It focuses on children with special needs and those from minority cultures currently living in the foster care system. Many of the children have been in foster care for years and count on the Adoption Center to expand their opportunities to have a permanent, loving home. The Center is an information and referral service through which children who are waiting to be adopted are brought to the attention of families who are interested in adopting them. The Center's four goals are to 1) bring children in need of adoption together with prospective parents; 2) educate the public regarding adoption opportunities; 3) remove institutional and geographic barriers that prevent adoption and 4) to advocate for families who want to adopt and support them through the process and afterward.
