Cause Description:
Senior Companions are low-income seniors 60 yrs and more who are trained and assigned to agencies where they help other seniors and disabled adults to remain as independent and autonomous as possible. The companionship between the Senior Companion and an assigned client is the psycho-social support that produces better health outcomes for both parties. The community receives Senior Companion services free of charge. This program provides appproximately 75,000 hours of service throughout the county each year.
