Cause Description:
The mission of the National MS Society is to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. Our mission is achieved by providing DIRECT SERVICES to people affected by MS and by FUNDING RESEARCH in an effort to find a cure for MS. The North Central Texas Chapter is committed to honoring & supporting the independence & self-sufficiency of people with MS by providing accurate and timely information, advocacy, and emotional support. The North Central Texas Chapter, located in Fort Worth, provides a wide variety of programs, fundraisers, activities and services statewide for Texans with MS, their families and friends. Our goal is to develop programs and services that promote knowledge, health and independence. The objective is always to empower the person with MS to lead a productive and fulfilling life. The North Central Texas Chapter strives to achieve its mission by helping people with MS in the following areas: Emotional Health Physical Health Knowledge of MS Family and Social Support Independent Living Long-Term Care Employment Accessibility The North Central Texas Chapter provides service to over 7,500 people in our chapter area, which includes the following 33 counties: Archer, Baylor, Brown, Callahan, Clay, Coke, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Erath, Foard, Hardeman, Haskell, Hood, Jack, Johnson, Jones, Knox, Montague, Nolan, Palo Pinto, Parker, Runnels, Shackelford, Somervell, Stephens, Tarrant, Taylor, Throckmorton, Wichita, Wilbarger, Wise & Young. The North Central Texas Chapter is a local extension of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
