Cause Description:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas opened its doors in 1971 to serve the children of Travis, Williamson and McLennan counties. In addition to community based and school based mentoring services, the agency offers educational services to participants, including a scholarship program, college counseling program, career counseling program, tutoring program and various other support services. Currently, there are more than 1,300 active matches between caring adults and children in Central Texas. The goal for the area is to reach 5,000 matches by 2010.
