East Coast Chicano Student Forum

Ithaca, New York

Cause Description:
Founded in 1972 at a Thanksgiving gathering known as Pachanga at Yale University, the East Coast Chicano Student Forum (ECCSF) has grown to have 19 member schools that organize 4 conferences during the academic year to address: higher education, leadership, service to the community, and Chicano/Latino culture. Since 2004, the ECCSF in collaboration with alumni in the Los Angeles area have organized a Youth Empowerment Conference (http://www.geocities.com/eccsf_youthconference) geared towards promoting higher education to Los Angeles youth. Funds are currently being collected in order to support this conference that is being made available to middle, high school, and community college students free of charge. Please help us in raising funds for a project that last year reached over 475 students, educators, and parents. With your support we hope to reach 600 students!
