Cause Description:
House of Puddles (HOP) is a a very small non-profit (501(c)3) home dedicated to providing lifetime care for homeless and unwanted senior-aged and special needs basset hounds and basset hound mixes. These dogs are usually considered to be unadoptable by most basset rescue organizations and animal shelters due to their age and/or infirmities. HOP generally only accepts dogs at the request of canine rescue groups, animal shelters, or individuals who have been referred by such organizations, and only when it appears there is no other adoptive or foster home available. HOP is not a shelter or kennel, it is truly a retirement home for old dogs that provides good food, warm beds, veterinary care and, most importantly, love and attention. Donations are tax deductible.
