Cause Description:
The Florida Wild Mammal Association provides care to injured and orphaned wildlife. All services are provided free of charge to those who bring in animals in need. We also provide educational programs for the community. As the human population continues to grow, the wildlife habitat diminishes and more human and wildlife interaction occurs. Each year we treat an increasing number of animals for poisoning, gunshot wounds, malnutrition, fractures, injuries from cars, fishhooks and nets, and other hazards. We also foster a greater number of orphaned wildlife every year. We provide rehabilitation services to Wakulla and all surrounding counties. Since being incorporated in 1994, we have provided care for over 5,000 animals.
