Students for Peru

Tacoma, Washington

Cause Description:
Students for Peru is a branch of the People for Peru Project. Students and teachers in grades 9-12 at The Annie Wright School fundraise throughout the year to raise money for the People of Peru Project. The money is used to buy medicines, pay for dental care, pay for hospitalization, help families build houses or start businesses, feed street children, and instruct primitive tribes in hygiene. The organization is also in the process of building an orphanage. Every summer, students, parents, and teachers from the Annie Wright School travel to Peru for a two week long service trip. Cities visited in Peru include Lima, Cuzco, Iquitos, Machu Piccu, and primitive tribes along the Amazon River.
