Cause Description:
For more than 50 Years the South Orange Symphony Orchestra has provided concerts of great symphonic music free to the public. The Orchestra's artist competition provides outstanding adult performers from New Jersey with the opportunity to perform as soloists. Our Memorial Scholarship Program provides funds for string players actively studying their instruments to pay for private lessons. This full size symphony orchestra, is made up of talented amateur, semi-professional, and professional players from New Jersey, Conecticut, and Pennsylvania, and performs three to four concerts per year.The majority of our funding comes from private donations.
