We're a K-12 school that welcomes children with learning and developmental disabilities whose needs cannot be satisfied within the public education system. Although of average or above-average intelligence, all our students have disabilities that manifest themselves as disorders in thinking, listening, speaking, reading or spelling, or they exhibit perceptual handicaps, brain dysfunction, dyslexia, developmental aphasia, Asperger or various other syndromes. Founded in 1973, The Child School’s goal is for each child to perform to his/her maximum potential. To realize this goal, we embrace the total child, in the belief that their self-image, motivation and ability to interact are critical to their ultimate success.
