Cause Description:
Help rescue marine mammals -- dolphins, whales, porpoises, and seals -- stranded along the coast of Cape Cod! Massachusetts's Cape Cod is famous for lighthouses, summer cottages, and the rich variety of ocean life that teems in close proximity with humans. But all too often, the large mammals of the ocean find themselves in distress, stranded somewhere along the 700 miles of Cape Cod coastline. Without intervention from the humans nearby, stranded whales, dolphins, and porpoises often die. When marine mammals are found in distress, IFAW's Marine Mammal Rescue and Research team is there to help. Its trained personnel are able to assess the health of the animal(s) and find the best course of action -- rehabilitation where necessary and possible, relocation, release, and post-release monitoring.
