Cause Description:
The summer of 2002 saw the inaugural season of the Justice Resource Institutes Doc Wayne Softball League. This league was founded by JRI President Susan Wayne to offer youth whose lives have been disrupted an opportunity for competitive team sports, with an emphasis on good sportsmanship, inclusion, personal growth, and entertainment. JRI has six teams in the league. The softball league runs throughout the summer months, with divisional playoffs, and ultimately a Doc Wayne Championship Game between the two divisional champions. All students are welcome to play, and everyone receives league awards during the end of the season ceremonies. Recently, Doc Wayne Softball has turned into the Doc Wayne Athletic League, and now sponsors a basketball, softball and soccer league. We are recruiting team sponsors to support these terrific kids and enable more kids to get involved. We invite you or your company to become a League Patron or sponsor a team.
