Cause Description:
The Omaha Community Playhouse Mission Statement: Professionals and volunteers partnering to provide outstanding theatre and educational opportunities for the community. The Playhouse is the largest community theatre in the nation, where a full season of comedies, dramas, mysteries and musicals are presented on two stages. The 600-seat Mainstage features seven shows, while the flexible, 250-seat Howard Drew Theatre traditionally showcases four productions. The vast majority of interfacing with schools in the metro area and the state comes through the Nebraska Theatre Caravan. The Caravan (The professional touring wing of the Playhouse) travels the region with productions and related workshops. The productions are geared K-8, 7-12 and the entire community. The Nebraska Theatre Caravan has toured the US for the past 26 years with it's holiday production of "A Christmas Carol."
