Appalachia - Science in the Public Interest is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization making science and technology responsive to the needs of underserved communities in Appalachia. We accomplish this through education, research, advocacy and demonstration of sustainable lifeways and technologies. We seek to educate the people of Kentucky and Appalachia about their marvelous natural inheritance and empower them to adopt sustainable lifeways. Our projects deal with sustainable use of energy, forest, water and other resources.
