Wayne-Metropolitan Community Action Agency (WMCAA) was established in 1971 to address the needs of low-income individuals and families of the 43 communities that comprise suburban Wayne County, enabling them to become self-sufficient. Since 1994, the agency has been accomplishing this mission through the provision of services that address homelessness, poverty, lack of educational opportunities, and declining neighborhoods. The services of WMCAA are varied and address a multitude of obstacles that the agency’s clientele face daily. These services are grouped into to four areas: Homeless Programs, Community Support Services, Community Development, and Youth and Family Services.
