Cause Description:
Mission: Turning disabilities into possibilities through art. Short History: Founded: 1983, serves 100 clients annually at four locations in the Miami Valley with the main location on Watervliet. Individuals have severe mental illness, physical disabilities, acquired head injuries, or developmental challenges. Newly acquired main location under renovation will meet all disability accessibility codes and allow the program to expand three-fold to serve at least 300 individuals within three-years. The satellite locations at Good Samaritan, Fairborn, and Xenia will continue to operate. Purpose of Program: Art has healing powers and aids in the recovery process. The program teaches job, life and social skills through the creation and sale of art objects. The process helps to create greater personal independence.
