About Us Cat Adoption Team was incorporated as a 501(C)(3) non-profit in 1996. We are a state licensed “No Kill” Foster Home Network dedicated to finding homes for cats & kittens. Since its inception, Cat Adoption Team has rescued and found homes for thousands of cats, most of which would have been euthanized without our intervention. We are an all volunteer organization with no paid employees. All of the work involved in finding loving homes for our cats is done through the dedication and generosity of our volunteers. All donations and adoption fees are used solely to care for our cats and allow us to continue rescuing more. What We Do RESCUE We rescue abandoned and homeless cats, mostly from local area shelters, and place them with a foster home where they receive basic medical care, such as treatment for upper respiratory infections, fleas, ear mites, intestinal worms and ringworm, if needed. Any cats or kittens requiring more serious treatments are taken to a local vet. During their time in our foster homes cats are also fed, cared for and socialized. While spending quality time with the cats our foster families acquire a strong feel for the various personalities of each animal in an effort to match them with the appropriate permanent home. REDUCE While in foster care all of our cats and kittens are taken in for spay/neuter surgery. Spaying & neutering is the ONLY WAY to reduce the cat population and prevent the pain and suffering of future unwanted animals. No cat will be adopted prior to spay/neuter surgery, ever. RE-HOME Once a cat has recovered from any illnesses and their spay/neuter surgery they are brought into PetSmart where the process to finding a permanent home begins. Volunteers staff the adoption center twice daily to clean cages, provide fresh food and water (and love and attention!) during their stay. Our volunteers work closely with people interested in adopting to find the perfect feline companion to match the lifestyle of the adoptive family.
