Established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 1965, Intersection for the Arts is San Francisco's oldest alternative arts organization. Started as a coffee house, Intersection has developed into a broad-based presenting organization committed to multi-cultural cross-disciplinary cutting-edge work by local artists and those from national and international communities. Intersection exists to nurture artists by providing a place where provocative ideas, diverse art forms, artists and audiences can intersect one another. We offer a space to perform, programs of technical and financial assistance, and a point of view that encourages vision, risk-taking and discovery.
