Cause Description:
Schertz Humane Society is a non profit (501(c)3 applied for) group of volunteers who have an extensive foster care network of abandoned or neglected animals, removed from kill shelters or taken in as strays. We do not have a facility of our own. Instead all of our animals live in foster homes, learning how to become part of a family, before they go to their forever home. All animals are spayed and neutered, and completely vet checked and vaccinated. We maintain a web site, have adoption fairs around the city, and have ads in local papers. Our main goal is to encourage participation in spay and neuter programs, and public education, to help control the extreme over population of unwanted animals, and alleviate their suffering, whenever possible.
