Ponderosa Pomeranian Rescue is an all-volunteer group dedicated to rescuing pomeranians from local area kill shelters in an effort to reduce the number of euthenasia's due to the increasing number of animals brought there. It is not our mission to "rescue" dogs from local shelters. These shelters have already "rescued" these animals. We want to work with animal shelters, not against them, to help reduce pet overpopulation by taking in this particular breed which is considered "high maintenance", and are often returned to the shelter due to adopters that have not fully researched the breed. We also take in poms from homes that cannot continue caring for their pet.
