Cause Description:
We are group of representatives from active nonprofits and local agencies across the Commonwealth of Virginia who labor to improve the lives of abused and neglected children. We are the Official Virginia State Chapter of the National Children's Alliance, a national nonprofit agency that certifies children's advocacy and support organizations. What CACVA and its member organizations envision is a system which works cooperatively and efficiently to handle each case of child abuse and neglect to minimize the traumatic effect and effectively implement governmental and nonprofit services to reduce the chances of revictimization in the future. With the use of multidisciplinary teams, child friendly interview facilities, and family programming, our member organizations affect the futures of children across the state. However, there are many communities in the state that have yet to implement these processes and teams and we look forward to the time when the entire Commonwealth of Virginia is becomes an even greater leader in providing a child friendly system to handle abused and neglected children.
