Cause Description:
The U.S. Junior Chamber (Jaycees) founded the 501 (c)(3) organization, Junior Chamber Family AIDS Network, in 1994 in response to what the Jaycees considered the greatest threat to persons of their age group (ages 21 - 39), namely HIV/AIDS. Junior Chamber Family AIDS Network is a nonprofit organization meeting the needs of children, youth and families affected by HIV/AIDS.The Junior Chamber Family AIDS Network’s philosophy is summarized in its mission statement: “Mobilizing communities for dynamic and effective solutions that support and enhance the lives of children, youth, and families affected by HIV/AIDS”. The JCFA Network has developed a three-pronged approach for collaboration among direct service providers, building the capacity of existing agencies and offering experiential training for young adults as a means of putting its mission statement into action.
