Cause Description:
The Mountain View Toro Marching Band has been invited to China. An international selection committee chose us, based on videos and CDs of our performances. While in China, we will be marching in the Plum Bloom Spring Festival in Nanjing. Over one million Chinese people participate in this festival! This event is televised across China as well as internationally. In addition, we will be giving concert performances on the Great Wall of China, and the prestigious Peking Opera House. This is the very first time that an American marching band has been invited to participate in a festival of this kind. This opportunity is an honor for us, but also for the entire country. We also believe it is the good fortune of the media and the community, to have an uplifting story such as this, to broadcast across the country and state. The Marching Band will not only represent Mountain View High School, our City, State, the Southwest, but the United States of America.
