Cause Description:
DOWN PATRICK FARM ~ EQUINE RESCUE, REHABILITATION AND SANCTUARY A small farm, currently operating privately, we are dedicated to saving, rehabilitating and placing in new and loving homes, equines that have been the victims of abuse, neglect or were bound for slaughter. As horses arrive, they are evaluated, vetted if necessary, and started on a rehabilitation program suited to their specific needs. We believe in the natural way here at Down Patrick, and horses are turned out 24/7 to live as close to nature intended as possible. It is our belief that this is better physically, mentally and spiritually for all horses. All horses here are barefoot and are treated with herbal and natural supplements whenever possible, to stimulate their own bodies immune system, which in most cases has been seriously compromised. We are a not-for-profit organization.
