Cause Description:
For thirty years, First Choice Community Healthcare, one of the largest providers of primary healthcare in central New Mexico, has been caring for medically underserved communities in Albuquerque and the Mid-Rio Grande Valley. Our quality medical and dental services are currently available at ten not-for-profit health centers, where we serve 40,000 patients and families annually, the majority of which benefit greatly from our sliding-fee scale, accessible facilities, and culturally-sensitive staff. Our philosophy is “100% access and zero disparity.” Recognizing that health and welfare are tied to education and community cohesion, the First Choice mission extends beyond providing just healthcare, to improving the health, life-skills and the well-being of all members in the communities we serve. In addition to comprehensive primary care, we offer a wide-range of education, prevention and outreach programs, such our Early Childhood Literacy Program, Women Infants and Children Services, and the First Choice Scholarship Program to assist local students interested in joining the Albuquerque medical community.
