Cause Description:
The Equine Rescue Resource Inc. (ERR) is a New York State 501(C)3 non-profit organization striving to prevent cruelty to equines, educate the public on equine welfare issues, facilitate rescue efforts and help horses in need. The ERR was originally created to provide the general public with a source of information related to the many unpleasant facets of the equine industry that you do not normally hear about, such as auctions, slaughter houses, licensed horse dealers specializing in slaughter horses (killer buyers), inhumane transportation, pregnant mares urine (PMU) industy, and nurse mare farms. We recognized a need for shelter, rehabilitation and adoption services, and then launched the ERR Placement Program. We are dedicated to fostering a cohesive environment within the equine community and strongly believe that education, cooperation and networking are the keys to making a difference for horses in need.
