Cause Description:
Loving Arms Inc. is a nonprofit children's organization working with disadvantaged children and their families to bring hope, healing, restoration and preservation by what ever means is possible and available to us. Poverty and low self esteem go hand in hand in keeping children at a disadvantage. Children are referred to Loving Arms by a professional (ie., teacher, counselor, spiritual leader, police). A case manager is then assigned to assess the needs of the child and his/her famiy. Resources, counseling, health needs, mentoring, tutoring, educational supplies, chore workers, cultural and sporting events are just a few of the many ways we offer help and hope to our children. We are currently working on a project to intervene and then offer those kids at risk of being dropouts an incentive to stay in school. We are also offering a program on how to work with children who might be at danger for committing violence to themselves or to others in the communities where they live.
