Cause Description:
Our Mission is to champion the cause of the wolf as an endangered species and to make every effort to: protect wolves, wild or captive, reintroduced or naturally occurring; help preserve wolf habitat; educate. It is also the mission of the North American Wolf Association to rescue wolves and wolfdogs from abusive and dangerous situations and to accept them at Sunkmanîtùtankâ Oyâté, NAWA's wolf reservation, where they can live out their lives in peace with us, or be placed into other safe, responsible and caring environments. In addition to accepting wolves and wolfdogs at our reservation, we will do everything within our power to expose the hidden cruelty behind the captive wolf and wolfdog trade, and continue to actively campaign against this shameful practice through whatever means necessary until ALL wolves are FREE. It is the official position of the North American Wolf Association that: the buying, selling, breeding and keeping of wolves and wolfdogs is as socially UNacceptable as wearing fur.
