Americans for Peace Now (APN) is the sister organization of Shalom Achshav, Israel's preeminent peace movement. APN's mission is to educate and persuade the American public and its leadership to support and adopt policies that will lead to comprehensive, durable, Israeli-Palestinian and Israeli-Arab peace, based on a two-state solution, guaranteeing both peoples security, and consistent with U.S. national interests. We also work to ensure Israel's future and the viability of Israel's democracy and Jewish character through education, activism and advocacy in the United States, and by mobilizing American support for Shalom Achshav. The Israel Defense Forces reserve commanders and officers who founded Peace Now understood that the best guarantee for Israels security is peace with its Arab neighbors. Today, Peace Now is Israels largest, most influential peace organization. It remains committed to realizing peace with security between Israel, the Palestinians, and the Arab states by supporting the peace process and though programs educating and bringing together individuals on both sides. APN carries out Peace Nows mission in the U.S., working for pro-Israel, pro-peace policies in Washington, D.C., creating national programming to inform and educate American audiences, and raising funds for Peace Now. APN is critical in shaping the debate and mobilizing the grassroots in America.
