Cause Description:
The Jefferson County (Missouri) Humane Society is organized to protect companion animals in the County from needless pain and suffering, neglect, and abuse, and to address the continuing pet over population problem. Jefferson County has become a very high-growth area in Missouri wich will also increase the population of Companion Animals in the County as well. Such drastic changes will result in increased demands on already burdened law enforcement and animal control services. Subsequently, concerned individuals and groups must unite to promote the humane treatment and proper control of animals as provided for by law and to reduce the vast numbers of homeless dogs and cats. TOGETHER, We can enhance the appeal of Jefferson County by helping to provide a safe and humane enviroment for both ANIMALS and PEOPLE.
