Cause Description:
St. Luke's Children's Miracle Network raises funds to enhance pediatric healthcare. 100% of the funds raised in our area stays in Siouxland to purchase advanced equipment that our staff needs to care for children as well as fun items like toys and games to keep children entertained during their stay in the hospital. We also help fund outreach programs that teach kids and their families how to lead healthy lifestyles. St. Luke's specialty departments that annually treat a total of 13,000 local kids include the Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery, Burn Trauma Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Physical Therapy and many other areas. St. Luke's Children's Miracle Network also gives four local county hospitals 50% of funds raised in their respective counties. This is to help each hospital enhance their primary care of children. These hospitals are: Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Orange City Health Sytem, Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove and Sioux Vally Memorial Hospital in Cherokee.
