Cause Description:
Greyhound Pets of America (GPA) is a national non-profit, volunteer-supported organization dedicated to the placement of ex-racing greyhounds in ideal home situations.
GPA's California Adoption Center, which services California, Nevada and the Phoenix area of Arizona, is an original founding chapter of GPA. The GPA California Adoption Center is one of the only greyhound-rescue organizations that accepts greyhounds from dog tracks, pounds and all other sources, regardless of age, health and physical state. It is also one of the only groups that maintains a fully equipped surgery center to provide full examinations, spaying, neutering, dental care and other procedures, guaranteeing that each adopted greyhound joins its new family in the best possible condition.
GPA California Adoption Center volunteers work closely with each prospective greyhound owner, matching them with a dog whose personality is most ideally suited to its new home situation to ensure a lasting, rewarding relationship.
