Cause Description:
Home energy is a basic human need; it is equal among other essentials such as food, water, shelter and clothing. Yet, over six million households in the United States cannot afford to heat and cool their homes. Many risk losing their energy service entirely. The National Fuel Funds Network (NFFN) works to resolve this critical situation. At the national level, NFFN promotes all types of energy assistance programs--including fuel funds--and advocates for fair home energy policies. NFFN members such as community-based organizations, local government agencies, and utility partners raise and distribute money for bill-payment assistance in neighborhoods across the country.
